The largest public gathering of centrist Democrats, WelcomeFest is a showcase for the array of leaders and organizations cultivating a partisan centrist vision on the left. We created WelcomeFest because we believe it's important to annually explore the key questions facing the centrist faction of the Democratic Party, provide a place for connection, and elevate the experts and practitioners on the frontlines to spark deeper conversations and action.
This year's theme for WelcomeFest is "Responsibility to Win,” exploring the key places Democrats must take responsibility to regain voters' trust and highlighting Party leaders who are best suited to shed light into how we do that.
Last year's inaugural WelcomeFest convened more than 300 centrist Democrats to discuss the winning energy, talent, data, and messaging in the center and highlight the leaders fueling it.
This year's WelcomeFest co-sponsors include Third Way, NewDEAL Leaders, The Next 50, New Democrat Coalition, Blue Dog Coalition, Future Caucus, The State's Forum, The Inclusive Abundance Initiative, and Dream for America.

Rebecca Cooke
Democratic challenger WI-03
As a waitress, small business owner, and nonprofit leader, Rebecca Cooke has focused her career on building community and serving others. Born and raised on an Eau Claire dairy farm, Rebecca knows the economic and social challenges facing the small towns and rural communities for which she’s fiercely advocated, from the kitchen table to the board room. And that’s a key reason why she's running for Congress - to be a voice who’s going to take on the monopolies that have robbed families of their farming heritage and decimated rural economies.

Janelle Stelson
2024 Democratic challenger PA-10
An Emmy Award–winning broadcast journalist, Janelle Stelson has spent her life listening to and talking directly to the people of Central Pennsylvania. In the fall of 2023, Janelle left her job at WGAL to run for Congress against 6-term incumbent U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, the former Chair of the ultra-right-wing House Freedom Caucus. Janelle narrowly lost in November 2024 by the second smallest margin of defeat of any 2024 Democratic House challenger, despite Vice President Harris losing her district by more than 5%. She recorded the highest overperformance over Harris of any first-time Red-To-Blue candidate in 2024.
