Frequently Asked Questions

  • WelcomePAC is seeking committed local leaders with the capacity to compete and win as Democrats in Republican-leaning districts across the country.

We’re looking for a new kind of candidate — a “Welcome Candidate.” Our ideal candidate is a principled, patriotic individual who believes in American democracy and the rule of law — a new type of Democrat with their own unique story and the ability to stand apart from the party’s national brand. In particular, we believe former Republicans and other anti-Trump conservatives are prime candidates for beating anti-democratic, Trump-aligned candidates on their own turf.

If you or someone you know sounds like a good Welcome candidate, we highly encourage you to submit a nomination.

  • The nomination form should take less than 30 minutes to complete, but we encourage those who would like to write more about the nominee to do so. You cannot save the application on our website and come back to it later, so we strongly recommend starting the short answer questions in a separate document to proof-read and paste into the online form once you are ready to submit.

  • After a nomination is submitted, the nominator will receive an email confirming submission. Nominators can expect to hear back after initial contact is made with the nominee.

We are currently actively recruiting local leaders to run in the 2022 congressional midterm elections. Nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis.

  • If we follow up with a nominator, we’ll be looking to learn more about the nominee — work history, community involvement, and civic history, etc. — and why they should be part of a slate of Welcome candidates.

  • If you have specific questions that aren’t addressed by our FAQs page, feel free to reach out via email at info@welcomepac.org.
